doodles projects
These intuitive doodles in ink (and other materials that feel right on the day) are a threshold into sculpture—quick notations of axis, energy, and rhythm. Built from circles and looping infinity-eights, the marks function less as depiction than as a way of tuning in to the pose I am working with, and to my own energy on that day before I enter the studio. Each drawing holds this double reference: an abstracted echo of the figure and an internal reading of presence. In the context of my polyptychs, these drawings form a parallel language of embodiment: a 2D trace that sits deliberately far from the 3D figure while remaining tethered to its energy. These drawings are about the process, not the final outcome.
