STAR WALKER

| TITLE: star walker

| MATERIAL: earthenware clay, naked, neriage

| HEIGHT: approx. 55cm

Landed in my studio in May 2025.

This figure emerged intuitively—part myth, part message. Star Walker appears in both contemporary and ancient mythologies as a traveler between worlds and timelines. They arrive in moments of collective unrest, bearing a vision clear enough to cut through noise and confusion—guiding us toward a possibility of restored balance, harmony, and peace.

The form is intentionally abstracted—shifting from the idealized human body toward something more elemental and symbolic. The oversized goggles or glasses function like a threshold—part mask, part lens, part humorous —implying perception beyond the ordinary. They are not simply observing; they are receiving—attuned to signals both ancient and still forming.

Star Walker stands as a witness and a reminder: that in chaos, there is always a pattern waiting to be seen; in fracture, a form taking shape. Their shadow stretches behind them like an echo from another dimension—part human, part myth, part map

The surface was built through coiling, pinching, and slab construction using earthenware clay. I employed the Japanese technique of neriage, layering different clay bodies to create a marbled, flowing texture—almost like topography or cosmic cloud patterns. Fired to cone 04, the piece remains unglazed, revealing the raw, tactile honesty of the material.
